1 Peter 4:10-11 says “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.” Serving is a form of worship that allows us to see others as Jesus sees them. It is one of the ways at MCUMC that we live out our mission of accepting God’s love and giving it away.
Here are just some of the many ways to serve within our church community:
Hospitality – greeting members and visitors, preparing snacks, helping with meals
Grounds/Maintenance – landscape & gardening work, cleaning & organizing, snow shoveling
AV Help – prepare powerpoint, audio/sound tech
During service – reader, communion server, acolyte, usher
Communications – help maintain social media pages, website, regular emails, and newsletters
Music – join a praise band or the choir
Get involved with a committee – Finance, Trustees, Missions, Children/Youth Education, SPRC
Where is God calling you?
